Our Firm was established in 1906 by
Mr. MCLAREN and Mr. HERNANDEZ, who were pioneers in creating a law firm
rendering general law services to their clients. By that time law offices used
to specialize in a single law area or two at the most, but not in all the law
fields that a modern enterprise needs.
The above policy created by the founders of this law office crossed the
boundaries of other countries and in 1919 Mr. HARDIN and Mr. HESS, British and
American lawyers respectively, become associated with the law office and their
names were adopted as the name of the office. Those names made an impact in the
area and definitively helped to create a large portfolio of prestigious domestic
and international clients.
In 1947 Mr. Eduardo Suárez was accepted as a partner, he was the former
Secretary of Finance and Public Credit, post he had held for eleven years. Years
later he left the office to serve as Ambassador in London England.
After the decease of our partner, Mr. Fernando Hanhausen, ten years ago, his
heirs decided to close the firm. That was the reason why Mr. Luis Barona and the
rest of the lawyers of the firm decided to incorporate a new law office in order
to continue rendering the services with the same abilities and efforts that had
characterized the law firm for many years.
Through the years we have represented, Japanese U.S. Corporations; German,
British, Dutch, French, Swiss as well as Italian corporations (among others).
